I created the Lighter of the Month Club as a unique way to distribute my artwork and to transform disposable lighters into collector items. For a nominal yearly fee, members get mailed 4 stickers a month with a cool design perfectly sized for BIC lighters. Members also get advanced notice about the monthly premieres, usually at a Seattle bar, where we check out the latest design, hang out, drink whiskey and maybe even pick-up real lighters. Content-wise anything goes, but it's hard to get away from robots, monsters, science fiction, and catastrophes. More »

    Farley Drexel

Greetings: Farley Drexel, malcontent, dinosaur photographer. I don't use a digital camera. Nothing wrong with them, but you get a different look with film. I use 35mm and some medium format. I get my special effects with infrared film, cross processing, pinhole photography, and light painting. I collect old 35mm, medium format and Super 8 cameras. I have no idea why. It's too expensive to shoot anymore. I have a masters degree in something I'm not working in. What else you want to know? More »

Poul A. Costinsky was born in former USSR. He mostly paints oil on canvas, but sometimes uses other media like Japanese ink on paper, acrylics, spray paints, and even photo camera. His art reflects on human condition in our hectic age, the nature of beauty of body, soul and nature around us. His art credo comes as a quote from a Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, who, once asked how to become a real artist, answered: "if you can help it, don't". Perhaps Poul just cannot help it. More »

i aim to bring together contemporary and ancient mythologies. the girls in the paintings come from the airbrushed world of fashion, while their situations are inspired by religious stories and faerie tales. common themes and narrative plots pull the pieces together to form series of tragic princesses, archetypes, villains, etc. More »

Tactful Color harmony, composition and mindful brushwork are the tools that for me work to create evocative and atmospheric paintings. Accurately loose brushwork is something I continuously push myself to master. In the end my hope is that people find the same balance of life and beauty in my work. More »

I created the Lighter of the Month Club a year ago as a unique way to distribute my artwork. For a yearly fee members get mailed 4 stickers a month with a cool design perfectly sized for BIC lighters. Seattle members come to a pick-up-point once a month to hang out, see the new design, and pick-up real lighters. Subject mater ranges from science fiction to abstract, often with a subversive flair. All pieces, so far, are made with Adobe Illustrator, soon to include the mediums oil paint and collage. More »

In my photos, I attempt to capture that Insight and Inspiration which can be found in simple discarded objects such as food waste and gutter clutter, or common household items. In effect, to demonstrate that beauty is indeed all around us. More »

Three thousand years ago, climate collapse, global epidemics, and countless civil wars led to the end of human civilization on Earth. Scientists tried to prevent The Apocalypse, but there was only one solution: intergalactic space travel. Surprisingly, their ability to travel to distant planets did not rely on faster space engines or tricky physics. Deep space hibernation and obesity allowed them to reach our world. Once-fat-astronauts woke up slim from the Thousand Year Sleep with dreams for New Earth still fresh. These are the traditional ceremonial masks used to tell the story of the humans, their arrival, and the war. More »

Photography for me is a creative medium that goes beyond a single photo. I am fascinated how a photo collage renders a two dimensional subject into a three dimensional scene. My work has evolved through the days of film and manual construction to the new age of digital. With the advent of digital photography and the ability to post process images the creative process exploded with new possibilities. I am thrilled with the journey and exploration ahead of me with this medium. More »
