The unusual circumstances of Dáša Baušová's early life in the former Czechoslovakia created a backdrop for a unique vision of a complex world gone askew. Psychological, ideological and sensual elements are inseparable in her images and narratives. Her current body of work "MATTER over MIND" deals with the brain as both, an organ and an entity.

I started with traditional painting, but after my mother had an accident leaving her in a coma, I started to experiment with the abstract idea of alternate realities. During the three months that she was in the hospital, I started using quantum physics and sacred geometry to alter still images in my way of showing the existence of alternate dimensions within the same reality. I choose topics that are transitional and fleeting.

Poul A. Costinsky was born in former USSR. He mostly paints oil on canvas, but sometimes uses other media like Japanese ink on paper, acrylics, spray paints, and even photo camera. His art reflects on human condition in our hectic age, the nature of beauty of body, soul and nature around us. His art credo comes as a quote from a Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, who, once asked how to become a real artist, answered: "if you can help it, don't". Perhaps Poul just cannot help it.

I live and work in Norfolk, Virginia. While working on corporate website during the day, I blow off steam and use up pent up creativity in the evenings drawing and painting. I work in several different styles, but am always trying to reinvent stories and images I've been exposed to since childhood. Some of those images include patterns on dinner wear or my mother's medicine cabinets crammed full with toiletries.

I find images and email them to master oil painters in China. This process leaves me free to focus solely on curating the world as I see it. And by participating in the global economy in this manner, I am making art in a way that aligns with my time and place. It also removes me from the burden of craft, as the craft of the painters is consistently excellent. By only dealing with images of strangers, I am able to further remove myself from the standard autobiographical tropes of contemporary art, at least superficially. The world is still beautiful.

Death, desire, closure, idealism, and beauty. My work develops the outlook on life. It emphasizes the role of the aging process. The figures show what a toll growing older has on the mental and physical being. Illuminating the final outcome of growing old; the inevitable death which follows.
