My work is inspired by the contrast of technology and the art of the handmade. Comparing the history of textiles and its applications to its affect on the textiles of today and the future. Taking influences from the exploration of pattern, literally and figuratively. From the sun rising and setting every day to the inner structures and skeletons of a repeat pattern. I am propelled by the poetic quality that cloth brings to people. My goal is to enhance the means of everyday life while representing culture, quality and the balance of old and new.

For the past two years, I have been collecting leaves from around Brooklyn and using them to create two and three-dimensional, multi-media works of art. Since then, I have created a series of single and multiple leaf print arrangements, arrangements containing leaves with no prints on them at all, monotypes on paper, and three-dimensional mobiles of leaves. A leaf that has fallen from a tree in November captures a moment in the growth and life cycle of a tree, and the transient beauty inherent in the inexorable march of the leaf from birth to death.

I am a Krasdale enthusiast. This enthusiasm is two-fold: it stems from a penchant for leveling high and low culture and from a lifestyle shaped by one's thinly lined pockets. My appreciation of Krasdale began when I was new to New York and had very little scratch. It was the economy brand of the neighborhood grocery store, C-Town, and has sustained me ever since. The Krasdale brand and its frank, unadorned aesthetic presented a venue for obsessive, impecunious absurdity. My Krasdale products and endorsements serve as simple celebrations of pragmatism, but also aberration, offering those up as viable creative commodities.

His influences range from the ancient, rapturous poetry of Rumi to the contemporary word art of Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger and Ed Ruscha. He has traveled extensively and incorporates the universality of the human condition in his works.

Celebrityism is a series of collages focusing on America's obsession with celebrities. News of celebrities has replaced real news, as in the case of Anna Nicole's death and when Paris Hilton went to jail. The public then is bombarded with repeated imagery of these celebrities. The ornate frames are to symbolize the royalty status given to celebrities and there are several religious iconitry references to denote how they have become the gods of modern times. "Celebrityism" represents our misplaced values raising the celebrity above us, culminating in the depreciation of the significance of everyday living.

"Talbot’s Pop Chart" - Art Culprit is Roger Sayre and David Poppie. This photogram is made of vinyl records that were produced by various groups from the UK over a 50–year span. Colored vinyl records, now a collector’s item reminiscent of the influence of the British music scene, are beautiful fragile translucent objects. Where the colors overlap, a new one is created. The arrangements of these colorful platters are like large abstract modern stained glass patterns.

Chambliss Giobbi’s figurative collages work on two levels: Firstly, as objects of obsessive psychological and physical mutation, and secondly, as testaments to a long courtship between artist and model.
Giobbi’s work is deeply psychological: One is left with the notion of witnessing an intense, virtually operatic compression of moments, catharsis and myth: an intimate viewing of entropy.
Chambliss Giobbi lives and works in New York City.

My work is very purpose driven and inspired by my mood. Photography comes natural to me and as a real estate person I'm able to get into many of the places that most wonder about from the outside. I like to mix things up and combine my photos with elements of culture and symbolism to get my point(s) across. Finished products are most always an "ARTvertisement" that tends to make people talk away from the web. My friend, the "LoftNinja" is a bit of a real estate prankster and although his work may seem ridiculous at first glance, look deeper and you will see anthropology at work.
