I am particularly interested in the infinite possibilities for the sculpting of a virtual self by mapping various simulated personae ("avatars") onto different and ever-changing roles, stories, and artificial landscapes. My project centers on Starlette Van Dyke, a fictional identity constructed for the virtual terrains of Second Life. Starlette appears in a series of screen captures playing out multiple roles, putting on different costumes and moving through animated environments. These digital snapshots—echo Cindy Sherman's photographic stills of female stereotypes, in her Untitled Film Stills 1977-1980.

Rowan is a Kentucky based digital artist. He tries to incorporate his love for programming in his art. He generates spirograph-like images from code and then touches them up and edits them. These works are proof that art can be precise and mathematical, leaving the creativity up to the numbers.

Dwayne Wilson, notices that there is nothing new to bring to the world of fine-art without sinking deeply into dark depravity. It's not that he's against that sort of thing... it is simply that he doesn't want to get his hands dirty. Look though! See that ashy bush as the website's favicon? That's actually a skull! He's not perfectly sure, if that represents his sensibilities, as flower picking and butterfly prances are his daily routine. He's a good boy, who wants to wait till he gets married with his "special one" before he has sex. Those receipts from the red light district don't mean anything...honest!

I'm an experimental photographer who's been working in the digital medium for four years. I strive to capture nature in inspiring and unusual ways; while I take pretty pictures, they should always make you think. The same effort goes into my portraits and still life; I photograph whatever I like, and am known for forcing people to pose in crazy ways, or for spending hours setting up arrangements of marbles or ketchup bottles. I'm a believer in contributing to the photography community, so I write a lot of behind-the-scenes details and add tips for my fellow photographers to my website.

I think of my work as fractal-based digital art. I paint fractals. More accurately, I "post-process" them — meaning I export them out of fractal programs and import them into graphic programs like Photoshop, Photo Paint, and Painter. I mess with what math gives me with extreme prejudice: exploding, slicing, collaging, layering, and destroying the original fractal forms. I work by serendipity in a process similar to spelunking. I poke around inside the cave of the fractal, unafraid of dark turns, until I stumble into something that pleases me.

The interconnected of life has always fascinated me. Perhaps it is the unspoken ability for color and texture to create ambiance and light. And then, there's the idea that something static could appear in motion. It's like the cat with a ball of yarn, forever intrigued in it's mystery...entangled in chaos, lost in bliss.
