I always knew I'd be working as an artist, ever since I made my first crayon drawing. As a child, I always wanted to be the guy who drew the spaceships for Star Wars. I doodled on every piece of paper I could, making whooshing and zapping sound effects as I went. Once entering the video game industry, I was able to fulfil some of these childhood dreams. My wish is for people to enjoy my work and see that I enjoyed making it.

"doktor J is a visionary scientist representing new art for a new civilization. this webpage is like a powerful dose of instant transformation technology, a movement towards an authentik manifestation of archaic-future shamanological intelligence applied in the form of art. supporting intentional local culture and arts, this webpage is stepping up as another celestial hub for tribal numinaries and elf loving intrepids. not only should everyone support the site by buying the PHAT art and spreading the link far and wide, anyone interested in the new culture should pay attention as doktor J is on the cusp. hands down the dope ever inspired expansively evolved ."

I’m an Irish based graphic artist, with over 10 years experience covering graphics, illustration, web, cdrom, animation and doodles. Inspiration comes from coffee, music, 80s arcades and the thought process of subconsciously scribbling on everything n’ anything. :)

My approach to making art is focused on both traditional and new media techniques. I love the tactile touch of carving a woodblock or lino from which the resulting matrix is inked and an edition is pulled. I also enjoy mousing about within the world of digital media. The options are infinite, posing one iteration upon another straining the editorial skills of the visual artist. I am intrigued by the possibilities offered by both, and the potential for a kind of hybrid printmaking process where one matrix is physical and the other expressed as binary numbers.

I've been drawing since I was two, so it wasn't a real shock when I decided to major in Illustration. I was a mixed media guy until a fateful day in 1988 when I first tried Adobe Illustrator and have been hooked ever since.

I love traditional, hand-drawn animation techniques, and feel that innovative designs and stories will always keep the medium vibrant. I hand-draw my cartoons and use a computer to color & time the animation. Music inspires me in its uses of timing and language. I’ve animated a few music videos, including “Put the Lights on the Tree” by Sufjan Stevens, and a segment of the documentary, “Danielson: A Family Movie” about the Danielson Famile.

Many of you who already know me, can confirm how unbelievably cool my whole life has been. I've got a great career, really cool toys, and I get to live in one of the most beautiful places on the whole planet. My whole family are great people who spend a huge amount of time and resources helping others. Many of my friends are some of the best and brightest on this planet. Some of my experiences are almost science fiction. With luck and good friends on my side, I've shook hands, and broke bread with Authors, Rock Stars, Astronauts, and Presidents.

I am a multi-media artist dealing with the issue of identity through self-portraiture. Ultimately, I am interested in the performance and rehearsal of that identity.
