Entirely a self-taught artist, all work begins with creating a core emotional tension. The aim is to produce with a perceived realistic quality, while not compromising the dissonance between the viewer, and the awkwardness of the painting’s composition, and the impossibility for the viewer to rectify or re-balance the painting. At this point, all composition effort is to create reality where the subject matter is off, whether the subject’s hands are too large, or the subject is bound for imminent doom.
