FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandre & Leo Fuchs @ Gawker
NEW YORK (October 1, 2008)- Gawker Artists is pleased to feature the photographs of Alex and Leo Fuchs in the second installation of the Art@Gawker exhibition program.
While the photographic works of this father and son vary greatly in style and subject, both reflect a natural playfulness and timely eye.
Father Leo Fuchs, a renowned Hollywood photographer, spent 20 years shooting some of the most iconic images of the golden era of movie making. His intimate portraits beautifully capture the aura of many beloved screen legends including Paul Newman, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Audrey Hepburn.
Son Alexandre Fuchs' lively compositions recall the calamitous pace of modern life. Alexandre digitally manipulates his images, emphasizing their impermanence and fragility. These often colorful compositions inspire feelings of urgency and restlessness.
