As a woman who draws women, I explore the female gaze. I go beyond any objectification or simplification of my subjects and delve further into their underlying emotions and personhood.

By showing the body, but making the face the focal point of my work, I subvert the male gaze and the tradition of sexualizing of the nude female. These women cannot be viewed as a sum of mass-marketed, fetishized body parts. They are first and foremost people, whose complexity invites the viewer to engage with them on a level deeper than their physicality.
